Sablatura Clubs 2023-2024

Sablatura students are encouraged to connect with new friends and get involved in a club this year! Listen to announcements each morning for more information about clubs. Some meet before school and some meet after school. Some clubs involve competitions and others do not. Find one that is fun for you!

Quiz Bowl is a competition that prepares students for high school level Academic Decathlon. Students study together to prepare for General Trivia or Super Quiz.

FPS students learn, practice and apply a six-step thinking, discussion & writing process competitively on 4 different topics each year. This year, teams will research tourism, urbanization, Antarctica, and autonomous vehicles.

TCEA teams will work in groups of three to build and program a bot to perform a series of tasks on the mat. FLL teams will work in groups of 5 to build and program a bot to perform tasks on the mat, and also research and prepare a presentation related to the challenge.

Robotics applications will be available online starting August 18th.

Applications are due September 1st. 

Qualifying Quiz will be held in the Sab cafeteria September 5th 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Destination Imagination (DI)

DI is a creative problem-solving club. After selecting a challenge, students work in teams of 5-7 to prepare for the regional competition.  Each team must have an adult team manager (parent).

Participants will meet in the gym then walk out to the track as a group to run, jog, or walk laps.  Students will track their laps with the scanning system and receive rewards provided by the Rising New York Road Runners.

Destination Imagination

Students interested in DI are invited to attend the student / parent interest meeting in the Sab cafeteria August 31st  4:15-5:00.

Mrs. Mueller will give an overview of this creative problem solving competition and students will have an opportunity to form teams of 5-7 students. Each team will need a parent to serve as a team manager. 

Teams can choose either the "Scientific" or "Fine Arts" challenge. Watch the video for a preview!
